Middle School Principal's Message 11/21/09 |
2nd Six Weeks Newsby Panchi Scown Dear AMS Parents, Another six weeks has passed. Your child received his/her report card Friday, November 20th. Alpine Middle School is continuing our journey towards an Exemplary rating. ZAP AMS has begun a new initiative to help our students to be successful at learning. ZAP (Zeros Aren’t Permissible) began last six weeks. This time allows students to do late homework for a reduced grade. Though this by no means should take the place of homework time at home, it is allowing students to redo unacceptable work or ‘forgotten’ work. I have begun calling, using the automated phone system, to let you know that your child had been assigned to ZAP. Lost and Found There is an incredibly large pile of lost and found. If your child is missing something, come look, it is probably in our pile of stuff. Band Concert The Alpine Middle School will be performing December 17th. It will be a fantastic concert and I hope to see you there. Shakespeare Man The Shakespeare Man will be performing for our middle school students December 17th and 18th. We are asking students to bring a donation of nonperishable foods for the local food bank (beans and rice are needed). Blue Santa Alpine Middle School will have a Blue Santa box for donations of unwrapped new toys. If you would like to nominate a family we will also have nomination forms available. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 837-7720. Sincerely, Panchi Scown, AMS Principal |
