Grading

This year, we will focus on four classroom activities designed to meet the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS):

1. Shared Inquiry Discussions (Analysis of Poetry, Fiction and Non-Fiction; 25% of your grade)

2. Written Responses to Literature (Reacting to Discussed Literature; 15% of your grade)

3. Independent Reading Monitored by the Accelerated Reader program (1 approved book per six weeks; 15% of your grade)

4. Vocabulary Enrichment utilizing Greek & Latin Roots (20% of your grade)
   
   

5. Reading Fluency (Utilizing the Reading Plus program; 15% of your grade)
